With funding from the Scottish Government, Thrive worked with the Balmore Trust and Just Trading Scotland to help Malawian rice farmers’ association Kaporo Smallholder Farmers’ Association (KASFA) to gain membership of the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO) and embark on ISO22000 food safety certification. Also funded by the Scottish Government, Thrive worked in 2021 with the Scottish Fair Trade Forum (SFTF) to help 5 Scottish Fair Trade organisations optimise their relations with their supplier partners, in Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya, South Africa, Bangladesh and Ecuador. Thrive delivered a report to each Scottish Fair Trade organisation, with recommendations agreed with each of them.
